Set up two-step sign-in
On Essentials only.
With two-step sign-in, a stolen password is not enough: signing in also needs the six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password.
Steps
- On the web, open Account and click Set up two-step sign-in under Your sign-in.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or type the key into it.
- Type the code the app shows into Code and click Turn on.
On the phone instead:
- Tap the menu at the top of the home screen, then Account.
- Under Security, tap Set it up.
- Tap Open my authenticator app, or type the key into it.
- Type the code into The code it shows and tap Turn it on.
From then on, each time you sign in, on the web or the phone, you are asked for the code.
Good to know
- Owners must have it. You have 14 days from signing up. Until then, the web shows a reminder with the date and Set it up now, and the phone's Account screen marks it Required.
- After 14 days, an owner without it sees only Set up two-step sign-in until it is done. Downloading everything and deleting the account still work.
- Everyone else can turn it on too, and it is a good idea: a technician's password guards customers' addresses and gate codes.
- Lost or changed your phone? Without the app you cannot get the code. Email support@endlessebs.com from the email address you sign in with, and ask for help getting back in.
